During the meeting with the delegation of the International Monetary Fund, the Government of the Republic of Serbia pointed out which areas will be the focus of development in 2023:
- ENERGY - A detailed plan of investments in energy is being prepared, and the restructuring of the energy sector is the absolute priority;
- IT INDUSTRY - Compared to January 2022, the first month of this year saw a 42% increase in exports in IT industry. There is great potential in this field;
- BIOTECHNOLOGY - Investment in research and development projects is expected thanks to the construction of the BIO4 campus.
The IMF assessed that the economy of Serbia proved to be resistant to external shocks, and the only challenge is still inflation.
